Distantly, Battat realized that it was getting a little hard to think.
“Good,” it praised him, its voice a low rumble. He felt a warmness in his chest as its soft tone—he had done something right. “Doesn’t that sound nice? What does it make you think of?”
“Bees,” he said, the words leaving his lips before he could think about them. He blinked, trying to regain focus. “What’re you doing to me?” Battat asked, his voice sounding further away than he remembered it being.
Battat forgets his place. His friend helps him remember it.

Summary
Somehow, it’s kind of insulting. It shouldn’t be– this is one of Yugamu’s personal favorites, after all. But there’s something offensive about being deemed less interesting than a movie this… mid. And god, he hates to call it mid– it feels sorta cruel when Yugamu is clearly obsessed with it. But this has to be the most uncreative romance flick he’s watched in a while. The one-liners are tired, the character tropes are overdone. How many times can a reluctant protagonist cave to the whims of a relentless love interest? Is there more than one plot line in this world? Apparently not.
In an ironic role-reversal, he finds himself becoming the voyeur, trying to interpret some hidden meaning behind Yugamu's reactions. It’s bewildering that he’s into this. There’s no sexual degeneracy or avante-garde slaughter. Not even any regular slaughter.
Just one milquetoast main character giving in to another, in a scenario that doesn’t make the stakes believable at all.
