    When Frank opened one eye and caught Peter looking at him, Peter quickly faced forward again and shut his eyes. He expected Frank to say something, poke fun, but the words never came. What Peter didn’t see was the small smirk that found its way to Frank’s lips. Peter let himself get lost in the music again, letting each word sink into his brain as he tried to understand Frank’s psyche through the heavy drum beats and intricate guitar solos, until his mind began shutting down. He unconsciously slouched closer to Frank, his head finding its way to Frank’s shoulder, and he drifted into sleep.

    Peter never told Frank that the first song he showed him was everything he couldn’t say aloud.
