    Buck has the perfect Sunday planned for Theo.
    Pancakes, the park, hot dogs, trampolines, pizza, a movie—the kind of day that feels normal in a way Buck still isn’t used to.

    Instead, Theo wakes up feverish and miserable, and Buck spends the next forty-eight hours learning exactly what being someone’s parent really means.

    Eddie notices immediately.
    Buck calls out of shift for the first time in ages.
    Buck insists he’s got it handled.

    He does.

    Right up until he really, really doesn’t and Theo has to call Eddie because Buck won't wake up.
