“Yes.” The fork comes into view as they speak, Ranboo shifting again to put their clawed hand on his cloven one. His head shoots up, taking in the monotoned hybrid’s expression. It's genuine. Soft. Tender. Filled to the brim with hope and joy. “I would love to date you, Tubbo.”
His face hurts from how big his smile is, eyes alight with pure happiness. He can't help it, Ranboo said yes.

How could Tubbo ever love someone like him? He feels guilty about keeping his cruelty hidden, even more so after the mechanic unknowningly helped him deliver a threatening letter to one of his best friends, he feels awful about it after all Tubbo's so pure and kind, (Right?)
Or; Tubbo does not have morals he has ideals and goals, he has no moral code and helps Fred do some pretty awful shit.

Tubbo has nightmares. This is no secret, and no surprise: children made to be soldiers and strategists and spies will have nightmares. It is the way of things.
These dreams are haunting, all-consuming, and from them he wakes with a heart pounding like a drum, fear rippling throughout his entire being. They are memories, dragged up from the depths to torment him every night, and for a long while, Tubbo would forgo sleep altogether to avoid them.
