Summary
Rozanov might have won tonight, but that doesn't mean he gets to treat Shane like a piece of shit.
Six months of fucking ghosting him, ignoring every single fucking text Shane sent.
Blowing him off in Sochi, assuming Shane's only interested in him for his body when all he'd wanted was to check that Rozanov was okay, that he was safe.
And then, tonight, as Rozanov tosses him out the way Shane tosses dirty laundry in the machine after practice.
Honestly, fuck him.
The heat in Shane’s chest is spreading to his veins.

Summary
It's an entirely regular Tuesday in February when the news comes out.
It's TMZ, of course, because it's always fucking TMZ, dropping a grainy image of Shane and Ilya kissing on the deck, Ilya's hand sliding under Shane's shirt as Shane's hands grip his sides, clearly taken using a telescopic lens from somewhere on the other side of the lake to the cottage.
Part of Ilya is horrified, that their most private, most beloved place has been violated like this, and part of him is, he realizes very guiltily, relieved that this doesn't have to be a secret anymore.
The largest part of him, however, is scared.OR
Ilya and Shane get outed, and Hayden Pike is an unexpected hero.

Ilya is helped off the ice. Shane doesn’t even tap his stick.
Remember when Sidney Crosby caught a puck with his jaw? That doesn't happen to Shane. That happens to Ilya.

Summary
The Swiss National League doesn’t care about the legendary Hollander-Rozanov rivalry. When the MLH can’t negotiate with the Hockey Players’ Union in time to prevent a hockey lockout at the start of the 2015 season, the Zürich Lions jump at the chance to sign both Shane and Ilya to short-term contracts. For four months in Switzerland, they share a team, a line, a house, and a bed.
Then the lockout ends in January, and it’s time to go back. Back to different countries, cities, lives. Beds.
Reentry is harder than expected.

Summary
The airport looks like it always does. A sea of people oblivious to anything going on around them. Ilya is about to put his headphones over his ears when he sees something so familiar his brain almost doesn't register it. That is until he realizes that he's in fucking Moscow so this doesn't make any sense.
Because right there at the gate, spread out over several chairs, his duffle bag as a pillow, is the figure of Shane Hollander sleeping. The hood of his sweatshirt is up and he's wearing sunglasses, but Ilya would recognize the shape of Shane Hollander anywhere.
“Hollander?” he asks in shock, stepping closer.
Or, Shane shows up in Russia after learning Ilya's father died. Ilya did not ask him to do this. He just showed up. And now Ilya doesn't know what to do with himself. He proceeds to just go with it, and maybe listen to Shane for once.
Another song inspired fic, this time Ever the Same by Rob Thomas which I argue is underrated.
