Summary
Fenna never dreamed of escaping the Circle.
She dreamed of plenty of other things. Of distant places described in books, of magic she had yet to master, of answers to questions her instructors wished she would stop asking. The world beyond the tower fascinated her, certainly, but fascination was not the same as wanting to abandon the only home she had ever known.
Then the Circles rebel, the templars turn against the order they once upheld, and Fenna finds herself walking through an open gate with everything she owns stuffed into a satchel and no idea whether she will ever return.
Freedom, she quickly discovers, is considerably more complicated than the stories make it sound.
As Thedas descends into chaos and a tear in the sky heralds the rise of the Inquisition, Fenna is swept farther from the life she understood and into a world she has only ever known through books. Along the way, she will find friendship, purpose, answers she never expected—and an apostate with an infuriating amount of knowledge about the Fade who seems all too willing to indulge her endless curiosity.
Fenna wanted to see the world.
She simply never expected the world to change quite so much once she did.

Summary
In which Fire Lord Zuko has a perfectly dysfunctional relationship with his own designation: omegas are off limits, he blows off steam at Republic City brothels with other alphas when he needs to, and he occasionally has a rendezvous with Jet when the opportunity arises.
That way, Zuko never has to deal with the ugliest parts of his alpha, and how much his own possessive, vicious nature reminds him of his father.
But then Katara suddenly shows up smelling like herself again after fifteen years on suppressants, newly single and very interested in finally finding out what being an omega actually entails.
Zuko, naturally, handles this with all the grace and restraint expected of a dignified Fire Lord…
