Flambae didn't process the question at first. He was too focused on the container in his hands, making sure the food had been properly heated all the way through because any cold absolutely destroyed the flavor, but Robert would eat it regardless. He stirred it a bit more and put it back in the microwave, figuring a few more minutes would be better safe than sorry.
It was only then that the question properly registered.
"Wait. The fuck are you talking about?" he looked at her, his brow pinched, "Im not courting anyone right now."

Robert could smell insulation cooking somewhere behind the console, sharp beneath the melting plastic and scorched electronics. Sweat ran from his hairline into his collar as the temperature inside the cockpit kept climbing.“So either kill me or get the fuck off my suit so we can talk like adults.”
For several seconds, Flambae didn’t move. His face remained broken across the surviving feed, golden eyes fixed somewhere past the camera while the fire around his hands guttered lower.
Then he laughed, bitter and broken, the sound turning ugly at the end.
Flambae crouched over the hole he’d torn into the mech, framed in smoke and orange light, sweat shining against his skin and his eyes burning gold as he looked straight down at Robert.
“You want to talk?”
His fingers tightened around the mangled edge of the cockpit.
“Fine.” He tore another section loose and let it crash to the floor below. “Let’s talk.”

Peter always knew he was the odd one out in his family. It wasn't like he didn't try, he did try to be apart of the family just when he was younger and it never worked. He was never able to connect with anyone, at least not the way Harley connected with their dad, or the way Morgan had everyone wrapped around her little finger since the day she was born.
Peter was just there, in a way he believed that he wasn't important, not to his family anyway. That was what he always believed, at least before he got his powers and became the one and only Spider-man.
