“I just—“Neil lowers his head, eyes focussing on the white juncture of the black tiles of their kitchen, but Andrew taps his chin up and forces him to lock their eyes, “I can’t stop thinking of what happens if I don’t get selected for the Cup.”
Andrew groans and shakes his head. “Nothing.”
“What?”
“Nothing happens, you dumb junkie. It’s a stupid fucking sport, it’s not the end of your life, or even your career.”
