Summary
So many years spent in each other's orbit, dancing closer while tidal forces made them drift further apart. Mountains between them, guilt and shame and despair. Yearning for something they weren't allowed to have.
His hands, though still unsteady, are confident as they rub up and down the length of Viktor's spine. Each little golden knob is something he wants to touch, now.
He places another kiss on the scarred flesh of Viktor's right cheek.
"Having you here," Jayce admits, "feels like heaven."
Viktor huffs out a laugh, leaning into Jayce like a cat seeking pets. "You are far too sweet for your own good."
Or, Jayce and Viktor find themselves alive and (almost) whole. They set out to find a new home, together.

"I remember you always finding ways to surprise me," Viktor says, leaning against the counter as Jayce pours a jug of water into the pot, then dumps a small bowl of measured spices in as well. "And I was wondering if I could… return the favor."
"By… surprising me?" Jayce asks, glancing at Viktor.
"I want to handle all of the planning," Viktor rushes on, before he can lose his nerve, "prepare our picnic myself, that sort of thing."
Jayce's eyebrows are raised, the corner of his mouth lifted in a little rueful smile. "Do I need to dress up?" he asks, "I'm afraid I don't cut quite so fine a figure nowadays, but I can certainly clean up."
Silly man, you are just as handsome as you always were, Viktor thinks to himself.
"Whatever is comfortable," Viktor replies aloud. "Just… allow me to take care of everything else. Just this once."
Jayce chuckles, stirring the soup with a wooden spoon. "I won't deny you," he says, looking amused, "I look forward to celebrating this… flower festival with you, Vik."
Or, Viktor takes Jayce on a date.

Summary
Less than 24 hours prior to the explosion that decimated the council chambers, Viktor and Jayce stood on the edge of destruction and possibility. A promise to talk about THEM fuels a fire in Jayce burning hotter than the impending war against Zaun.
Refusing to make weapons for the council, Jayce is given 1 hour to take whatever he wants that isn't nailed down to the lab and get out. The structure holding the arcane web may be nailed down. But his partner inside of it certainly isn't.aka a character study of the boys if they knew and attempted to act on their shared affection but circumstance forces them to try again, and for Viktor to re-learn that he is worthy of love, no matter what form he takes.
