Summary
Bradley wakes up late on Tuesday morning. It's the third week of classes and he'd stayed up too late in the lounge with the other guys watching the game. His alarm should have gone off at 7:30, but he probably forgot to set it the night before. He wakes up to a pounding on his door at 8:50, and by 8:55 the world has changed.
Going to war. Uncle Wood says they're going to war and yeah, Bradley thinks to himself dumbly, that makes sense. But if the nation is going to war, his entire family is going with it.

"Alright, aviators, now that we're all here, the exercise will begin momentarily. As briefed, this is a TopGun classic - dogfighting. Guns only, no missiles. Working with your wingman, you must shoot down all bogies. The last pilot or pilots standing are the winners. Understand?"
Once the Daggers have all murmured agreements, Mav turns his head to look at Ice. "You ready, Ice?"
"Let's do this, Mav," Ice replies.
"What the fuck?" comes Jake's voice first, followed by Bob’s, "is that Admiral Kazansky?"
"Fight’s on," Mav calls before anyone can say anything else. "Let's turn and burn, baby!"Mav challenges the Daggers to a dog-fight against him and his wingman. Only - he doesn't tell them who his wingman is going to be, and it isn't until they're in the air that they realise the legend the Iceman is there with them.
