Yuna Hollander was a member of the Japanese Imperial family until she went to college in Canada and fell in love with a hockey player. With her parents' blessing, she renounced her status as a princess and became an average Canadian citizen and produced a son who is known as Hockey Jesus. Visits by the Hollander family to Japan are extremely low-key and most people tend to forget that she's the daughter of the emperor.
Shane is a hot prospect for the MHL when his uncle, the Crown Prince, dies from pancreatic cancer. He doesn't even actually connect his relatives with the imperial family; he's so focused on hockey that almost everything else doesn't register and hasn't for a long time.
The problem is that there are no remaining male heirs to the throne in his mother's generation and his aunts only have daughters.
It's getting to be an issue.

Summary
It's 1983. Decade of Decadence. The band Shield is poised on the edge of their big break. Steve Rogers leads the band, supported by his twin sister and lead guitarist Ella, star drummer Bucky Barnes, and hot bassist Natasha Romanov. Can internal strains on the band and the pressures of outside expectations destroy them or will their tight bonds keep them all together? What happens when love isn't enough?
The tags and description will be updated as the story progresses, but expect period-typical issues like drug use and addiction, misogyny, and the seedy underbelly of the music business. Updates weekly here. I also don't know much if anything about the music business; the little I know comes from biographies of Motley Crue and Billy Idol. Just take it as the fantasy it's meant to be and don't look for veracity. :-) I have tried to correct typos, but please don't point them out if/when I miss them.

My name is Lysippe. Lysippe Wayne.
This story follows the Emma Harrington ( The Armorer, Duty, and Stardust) and Alex Barnes stories (Legend's Apprentice, Legend, and Legendary) and focuses on a new original character. Characters from these stories appear frequently, as do characters from the MCU and DC comic books. For placement and characters from Marvel, consider events as stopping after Captain America: Civil War. Thor: Ragnarok, Spiderman: Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War were not used in the stories.
The timeline regarding Lys's cousins is a little compressed; I didn't track the offspring very well from Legendary, sorry. I'm sure there are identification errors. :-)

Summary
Ilya, against his better judgement, is in yet another boring midsize SUV and on the way to none other than Shane’s parents cabin.
Ilya knows almost nothing about these people. He knows Yuna abstractly. She is an excellent manager, cut throat, a force to be reckoned with, and the woman who singlehandedly secured the majority of Shane’s impressive sponsorship portfolio.
What he does not know, and what feels most important, is how the Hollander’s are going to take to the “gay son fucking his rival thing”. To be entirely fair, it’s a lot to absorb in an afternoon. But Ilya is not concerned with protecting the delicate constitutions of the elder Hollanders. Ilya is worried about protecting Shane. Supporting Shane. Showing Shane he chose correctly when he chose Ilya, despite everything that might point to otherwise.
And so, Ilya is resolute in his decision. No matter what happens, no matter what they say, he will focus on one thing: protect Shane.

Shane’s sensible, all-wheel drive, good-in-the-snow car was sitting in the garage when Ilya pulled in.
Ilya winced.
There was a reason he’d said no when Shane offered to drive out tonight. It was the same reason Shane had agreed so quickly it was obvious he hadn’t really wanted to come. Since Boxing Day, they’d been stuck in a fight-apologize-make up-go quiet-fight again cycle that was as frustrating as it was heartbreaking. They’d been quiet for a week now, which meant they were just about due for a fight. Ilya wasn’t sure they could survive another fight.
He winced again when he saw that Shane was still in his car, and had seen the first wince.
They’d definitely fight now.
“Sorry,” Shane said as they both exited their cars. “I know we said… I just needed to talk to you tonight and I didn’t want to do this on the phone.”
Oh.
Not a fight, then.
A break up.
No wonder Shane looked so sad.

“Montreal asked me to waive my no trade. They want to send me to LA.”
Or: There is no dramatic plane landing. There's just Shane and Ilya, choosing each other, even when that means choosing to be apart.
