    It wasn't Nie Mingjue who was ambushed at Yangquan and later captured and taken to the Nightless City.

    It was Lan Xichen.

    However, Lan Xichen possessed more auxiliary skills than Nie Mingjue.

    He was able to breach the encirclement and escape, albeit heavily injured.

    Crack Summary:

    Everyone knows that Lan Xichen has been pursuing Wei Wuxian from Nanhai to Beijiang, from the Eastern Sea to the Western Mountains, across the Central Plains. But no one knows the reason why.
