Summary
“Oh God — Ted?”
The sound of abject horror in Rebecca’s voice has him glancing up towards her face, her hand covering her mouth. She’s staring intently, her eyes focused towards something on the ground, and he follows her line of sight down towards the rugged cobblestones. It’s dark, the street dim, but he catches the reflection of something when he shifts forward a bit, the light from the street lamps glinting off of something in the gutter. He cranes his neck to get a better look, his eyes catching a glimpse of a hilt smeared with red.
It’s a goddamned knife.
He starts running his hands over Jamie’s torso with a renewed vigor. He’s surprised he can get the words out past the dryness of his mouth.
“Were you hit?” he asks, moving to wrap around his back, then trailing frantically over his arms and finally his legs before locking around his ankles, giving them a firm shake.
“Jamie, look at me — were you stabbed?”
or, Ted Lasso has never been good in a fight.

Summary
He wasn't going to let the thoughts win. That part he was sure of, had been sure of since Henry was born, a promise he made in a hospital room to a baby who couldn't understand a dang thing, yet he said it and made a vow: I am not going to do that to you. I don't care what it costs me. You are not going to grow up carrying the thing I've carried.
He hadn't specified the terms, back then, hadn't thought through what "that" would come to mean over the next years, hadn't imagined that the promise would eventually mutate into something with far more tentacles than the original sentence suggested. It became not just I won't kill myself which had been the plain meaning of it, but I won't be seen as anything less than fine, ever, by anyone, because being anything less than fine is the first step down a road that ends in—
So yeah, he wasn't going to do that. But the pressure had to go somewhere. It always had to go somewhere, and he'd stopped, a long while back, believing he had the right to put it anywhere near another living person.
In which Ted Lasso self-harms as a means of avoiding the more permanent solution to his pain.

Summary
Trent Crimm dies on a Wednesday.
It doesn’t feel right, for him to die on what should be such a normal day. Ted can hardly believe it, at first. Feels like some sort of big old cosmic joke, really, if he’s being honest about it.
It’s real hard for him to be honest about it.
Trent should have lived forever. He and Ted were supposed to be old together; they were supposed to be married for decades, supposed to see their children have grandchildren, supposed to make a million dinners and have a thousand little arguments and fall asleep in each other’s arms every night for the rest of their nights.
Instead, Trent has a brain aneurysm and dies in his sleep.
And it happens on a Wednesday.
or: trent unexpectedly passes away. ted keeps living. the days after are hard, but ted endures.

Summary
"Trent Crimm? No way! Did you by any chance go to Lawrence high school from 92 to 93? Cause if you did I got a bone to pick with you." Coach Lassos' tone is excited, like just won the lottery excited, despite the cynical final sentence.
Everything on his mind immediately comes to a halt. Hardly anyone knew that he went to America for school. He'd hated almost everything about that year.
Almost everything.
"I did- how could you possibly know-" And suddenly it makes sense why he seems so familiar he remembers breezing past his full name, every article referred to him as Ted so it didn't matter, but now it really matters because there's absolutely no way this is Trents life right now.
"Theo?"
TLDR: Ted Lasso and Trent Crimm went to high school together and come face to face with each other for the first time in 30 years in the press room.
