"How many did you kill?" he whispers. "How many lives did my gift to you steal away, hmm?"
Soap clenches his jaw, fights past the sensation of his own lips sewn shut. "Ah lost count," he replies. "Ghost, what -. How -?"
Ghost meets his eyes, lowers both of Soap's sore hands to the floor on either side of his hips, and crawls into his lap. Soap is so surprised by it that he doesn't even think to fight Ghost off until too much weight, a too-heavy body, settles on his thighs.
"You took the knife, Johnny," he says. "You took it, and you killed with it. Not my fault you're so good at it, my sweet acolyte."

Unfortunately, tracking Leon's phone only to find it sitting directly beside a huge, suspiciously blonde wolf complicates things just a little.
Leon is determined to isolate himself for fear of hurting the people he loves.
Chris is determined to find a cure so that he'll stop sulking in the forest and return to society.How hard could babysitting a giant dog be?
(Basically Chris and Leon live in a shed in the woods together while they try to find a cure for lycanthropy and also maybe fall in love a little bit along the way)

Summary
For a long time, the 141 has been exclusively birds.
This isn’t by design; a lot of those that choose to go spec ops are birds, or particularly well-suited breeds of dogs and cats, the occasional mustelid and, for one particular mission where they’d had to house a foreign unit, a very inconvenient bull. Usually, though, it’s animals that are good in small groups as well as large ones, groups that can form flocks and packs and colonies, respectively.
They are a flock, mismatched and odd though they are, and Ghost has always assumed that, should they welcome a fourth into their unit, for a trial run or otherwise, their prime candidates would be other birds.

Summary
Soap doesn’t remember the ambush outside Prague. He doesn’t remember the medevac, the surgery, or the two weeks he spent in a coma. What he does remember is Ghost’s face when he wakes, sitting at his bedside like he hasn’t moved in days.
Turns out, Ghost’s been listed as his “next of kin.” Which is strange, because Soap doesn’t remember marrying his lieutenant, either. However, hospitals only allow family to stay overnight, and Ghost wasn’t about to leave.
Now, as Soap learns to walk again, Ghost helps him eat, move, and stay awake. It’s supposed to be just for practicality and convenience.
But there’s nothing practical about the way Ghost looks at him or the way Soap looks back.
Recovery is messy. So is pretending not to care.
Or: Soap survives the gunshot, and Ghost pretends to be his husband so he can take care of him
