Summary
In the morning comes the realization... Everything they did at night has consequences. In an hour, they are expected at the meeting, Jiang Cheng cannot move, and Nie Mingjue's back is disfigured.
"My entire body hurts," Jiang Cheng whispers at the ceiling, his voice like the whisper of a dying man. "Everything. Every single cell."
"Be more specific," Nie Mingjue says calmly, and there is a hint of satisfaction in his voice. Like a man who did his job well.
"I can't be more specific!" Jiang Cheng turns his head and glares at him with hatred, behind which hides something else, something he's afraid to name. "My entire body hurts! Even my hair! My hair hurts! Is that even possible?!"
"Your hair was pulled too hard," Nie Mingjue remarks impassively. "You asked for it."
"I DID NOT ASK FOR IT!"
"Harder," Nie Mingjue quotes in a low voice, and the way he says the word, slowly, with feeling, with a hint, makes everything inside Jiang Cheng turn over. "Hold me tighter, I want it like that." He pauses. "Those were your words."

After the situation in his Ancestral Hall happens, Jiang Cheng is unsure if he should be happy he, in fact, had a soulmate in this world or broken for the reason that even his person didn’t want to stay with him, though they gave him their own core.
