Peter Parker makes one last gamble, asking for Dr. Strange to send him to a new universe--one so far his enemies wouldn't be able to come through the portal and follow him, or endanger his friends. The spell works, and Peter finds himself in the dark, smog-filled streets of Gotham City. Weak from the interdimensional journey, he finds an alliance and friendship with none other than a young street thief in a dirty red hoodie.

“You are planning to rob me or what?” He hears Rozanov call, and he can’t help but smile slightly even as he rolls his eyes, closing the door to the linen closet and feeling strangely lighter than when he opened it, reassured that he’s just trying to read into a blank page, that today doesn’t mean anything more than Rozanov doesn’t mind him being around, which is strangely flattering.
“I don’t know,” he calls back. “Don’t Russians like diamonds and fur and stuff? Where should I start looking if I want to know what my options are?”
He hears Rozanov laugh, and it makes him smile.
When he joins him in the living room once more, Rozanov tugs him down to lean against him again. Shane goes easier this time, settling into it, knowing it doesn’t mean anything other than the fact that he just happens to be the closest warm body, the person on Rozanov’s roster who filled today’s slot.

“This isn’t possible…” Strange said under his breath as he used a spell to keep pressure on Tony’s wound. Star-lord landed next to the pair.
“What’s not possible?” Quill screamed as his anger bled into grief.
“I saw 14,000,605 futures where we fought Thanos. We only won one.” Strange said as he looked back towards Tony.
“Are you saying this is one of the futures where we lost. You’re saying he’s won.” Tony said as he slowly managed to stand with Strange's help.
“No… in all the futures I saw… Thanos taking the boy… It didn’t happen in any of them.”

Thanos takes an interest in Peter during the battle on Titan and takes him.
