Then his phone started blowing up.
His mom was on him immediately about the summer schedule—photoshoots in Toronto, sponsor appearances, youth camps, PR events for the Voyagers. The team was calling about post-season press. Everyone wanted a piece of Shane Hollander, the perfect golden boy, the disciplined athlete who always said the right thing and smiled for the cameras.
Standing in his apartment, watching his screen light up over and over, Shane snapped. He didn't understand why he was hyperventilating or why he felt like he was losing his mind, but he knew with certainty that if he let his mom or the team control him for one more second, he was going to shatter into pieces.
He didn't explain himself, nor did he answer a single text.
Shane tapped into his settings, pulled up his contacts, and went down the line blocking everyone. His mom. His agent. The Voyagers' PR manager. Ilya. He booked a flight to Kansai, packed three shirts and his passport into a bag, and left his phone face down on the kitchen counter. He was getting on a plane to Kyoto for one reason: to figure out what the fuck was wrong with him.

Shane Hollander is a single parent to his daughter Aurora. He tries juggling two jobs, university classes and taking care of his daughter, but it's hard. Enter Ilya Rozanov, a very handsome and very kind Economics professor, who just offers to take care of Aurora.
And Aurora apparently loves him so much that she accidentally imprints on him and Shane is doomed.

Summary
Shane Hollander was not a desirable omega, and that was a fact that he has long come to terms with. Too tall, too strong- not pretty enough. It wasn't something that bothered him anymore, especially not while he had his career of being a physical therapist laid out so nicely for him- he just had to push through this last year of university first.
Then, Ilya Rozanov succesfuly made his way into Shane's orbit.
Or, Shane agrees to help Ilya with getting their two friends together, not realizing how far this whole thing was going to go.

All Rozanov had to do was give him his room number and Shane would come running to him. Despite the fact that he shouldn’t want this, despite the wrongness of this whole situation–despite everthing.
Despite being keenly aware of a million reasons why he shouldn’t, Shane gets into the elevator and presses the button for the 12th floor. He smooths over the edges of his fresh scent patch. Not like it’s going to save him now.
