Summary
Last year was, to put it mildly, a bit of a clusterfuck. The good news is this year sort of has to be better, at least on the education front. No one really questions how things ended, which is good for the people involved, who very much did get away with murder.
There's a lot going on behind the scenes, but it's not really most students' problem. Even as the world burns down around them, they're focused on continuing their education. Most of them. For those who know the truth of last year, though, there is one question that needs to be asked.
Just what sort of person is Ling Yao, really?

So. There's a Dark Lord on the loose, the government has gone mad with power, and there's some important tests coming up. In some ways, that's just another year. Everyone would really like it if that wasn't normal, but it is what it is.
The best way to handle this sort of thing is with clear, effective communication.

Summary
The Triwizard Tournament is historically known for being incredibly unsafe to participate in. Or to judge. Or to spectate, sometimes. Given basic pattern recognition, trying to bring it back would be a recipe for disaster.
It's a shame how the people in the best position to survive it- what with being nigh-immortal, and all- are the ones who have to stay out of it for that exact reason.

Summary
After everything weird that happened last year, surely the population of Hogwarts can be afforded some peace and quiet and normalcy. Except no, because the whole school is surrounded by psychological torture monsters. Whether this is good or bad for self-discovery is a question of opinion, because they all sure are discovering things! Mostly that they're traumatized.
A search for a way to bring back some good memories is, in these conditions, incredibly overdue.
Or: Walking soul buffet tests the efficacy of two years of not-quite-therapy.

Okay, so one of them is only very technically a kid by wizarding standards. And the other doesn't know what's going on. And she's not fully possessed until well after she gets into the castle. But other than those minor details, it's a good joke.
