Summary
Bart didn’t often think about the past. It all got hazy pretty quick between the constant deaths and whatever those science people had tried to do to her when she was trapped. They were most all dead now, none of her concern.
The future didn’t worry her either. The universe carried her, like a leaf on the wind, to exactly wherever she needed to be and exactly whoever needed to die.
Nah. All that mattered was the present, and whatever was nearest.
A gun.
A snack.
A car.
A machete.
And then the universe brought her Ken.- Language:

Summary
Project Marzanna doesn't attract as many scientists as Project Icarus. Mainly because the scientists who work on Marzanna have a bad habit of dying.
Companion fic to Project Icarus. Bart-centric, though Dirk plays a key role and makes a few appearances.

"Why don't you go shower while I get dinner started?"
Trinity's mouth opens and for a brief second, nothing comes out. It's not that she doesn't have words. She has too many words, stacked in her throat like plates she's afraid to drop—a series of things she would love to vomit at Yolanda's feet, purging them from her body so that she doesn't have to carry them around anymore. But that's not what she asked. Trinity swallows hard, choking down her desire to be difficult. Now is not the time for complaints. Instead, she forces a weary smile, and hedges, "You don't have to do that."

Yolanda Garcia would like to state, for the record, that she tries not to pay special attention to Dr. Santos at work.

The audacity Huckleberry has. He reaches out, and he pats her shoulder.
"Is it the, y'know…. Mommy issues thing?" Trinity sits up, looking at Dennis, offended. It definitely is, but he doesn't need to be spreading her secret like that. "What?" She says.
Dennis shrugs, "I mean. A condescending older woman who praises you sometimes. That sounds like Trinity's wet dream." He grimaces, "Sorry, but you get the point." He continues, "And the fact that it's sort of inappropriate and forbidden. Her being your resident, I think that adds to your hangups."

Summary
Trinity knows it’s inevitable. She understand that this–this thing–can only coil so tightly before it snaps. And guess who’s ass is in the trap?
‘Santos. A word.’
Not a question. Not even a suggestion, really. An order veiled as something softer, something less loaded. Garcia doesn’t even look at her; pert buns swaying slightly as she and her perfect posture lead Trinity to the stairwell. How is she still standing like that–after, what, nine hours? Trinity aches. She has blisters from her shitty tennis shoes that Huckleberry insisted she buy–her ratty old gym shoes were fine, by the way–and an omnipresent thudding behind her eyes and the inability to keep her shoulders rolled anywhere but forward. Garcia spins on her heel; her shoes are pristine, white and stitched with fine thread. Trinity wants to die, just a little.
‘You’ve been avoiding me.’
There it is. Trap, meet ass. She’s been told she has a nice one, so hopefully that counts for something.

Summary
Garcia knows Santos has been struggling with her second year of residency, the workload never letting up even months into it; and she’s all too aware of the tension with which Santos’s been carrying her body these past few months. As much as Garcia has been insisting that she take care of herself lest she risk burnout, Santos has quite the stubborn streak: it’s clear that she’s been running on fumes this past week, her body essentially comatose right now beside her. She regards Santos’s sleeping figure and resolves to wrest as much rest out of the following days as Santos will allow her to—and there’s no doubt she’ll be met with protest, albeit futile, at every effort.
Santos is a dense ball of tension as is, but Garcia wants to tease out any remaining coils of it that linger underneath, delicately working at them, dredging them up until she can eradicate the tension entirely.

Summary
After her father’s sudden death, Trinity returns to her childhood home in Boulder, Colorado; a place of manicured lawns, suppressed trauma, and the conservative family she has long kept at arm’s length. Yolanda accompanies but only after agreeing to Trinity's terms that they pose as friends, forcing their long-term relationship to become a secret. What begins as a brief trip to organize a funeral stretches into an indefinite stay when Trinity’s brothers guilt her into staying behind to care for their mother. As the days turn into weeks, Yolanda remains at Trinity’s side, but their relationship begins to feel the effects of being tucked away for too long. As Trinity's ghosts from Boulder grow increasingly relentless, she and Yolanda must confront whether their relationship can survive the turbulence, or if they should have abandoned ship long ago.
or
Trinity brings Yolanda to her childhood home with the requirement that they hide their relationship from her conservative family. The ramifications of that choice quickly make themselves clear as their relationship is challenged.
It's "Happiest Season" but in the summer, with a death in the family, a (somewhat) healthier relationship, and no Aubrey Plaza.

"Alright, I'm twenty."
Oh. Cassie sucks her teeth, taking a sip from her glass. Young.
“I was out of undergrad by the time you were born.”
Victoria tilts her glass absentmindedly. “So?”
Cassie can't help but smile, fixing her bangs out of habit. “I think you drank a little too much.”

Summary
Trinity gives herself a second on the final landing, fingers gripping the railing hard enough that the metal leaves a faint red impression in her palm when she pulls away. She takes a steadying breath in through her nose, out through her mouth. Then, she scrapes together her usual mask as she makes her way over to Yolanda's front door, pushes her shoulders back, and knocks.
Yolanda opens the door with a grin that hits Trinity hard in the soft, vulnerable center of her chest. "Hi, baby," she greets, warm and bright and so fucking happy to see her that Trinity feels it like sunlight on her face after a twelve-hour shift, even though it’s well past dusk.

"Hey." Yolanda reaches out, lightly catching her elbow to stop her from working. "Seriously. Did I do something? Because if I did, I'd really prefer yelling over the silent treatment."
Trinity's mouth is suddenly desperately dry. "No, god, no. It's not— you didn't do anything."
"Then what is it?" Yolanda presses. There's a crease between her brows that Trinity feels bad for being the one to put it there. "We both finally have a couple of days off after today. I was kind of hoping I'd get to see my girlfriend somewhere that isn't work."

Summary
“Like, what if I can’t do this? What if I just can’t fucking do this.”
Garcia doesn’t know what to say so she puts a light hand on Santos’s back, and when she doesn’t reject the touch, Garcia starts to move it up and down and up and down, slow and steady and gentle as she closes the distance between their chairs and leans in close so she can keep her voice low.
“Trinity,” she murmurs, “we both know that’s not true.”
Santos shakes her head again and chokes out an empty laugh. “Fuck off,” she manages, but without any bite behind it, and her bouncing knee is starting to lose steam.
“Make me,” Garcia replies without missing a beat.
