“You’re really clueless, aren’t you Light?” L sighs in exasperation.

Summary
“Let’s stop here.” L pulls himself from Light, moving to rest his back against the headboard before pulling Light into his lap. Light feels limp. He doesn’t understand why.
It’s been a while since he started off with Prozac, under his psychiatrist’s request— something about helping him feel less anxious. Ever since then, he feels like a walking shell of a human, with no real motivation to do anything at all. No anxiety, no happiness, no nothing.

“You and your stupid pride. You’ll never get rid of it, will you? Always trying to be the Apex Predator.“ L teases, fingers threading closer towards Light’s tertial scapular feathers. Light tries to reply, but the relaxation courses through his veins like alcohol as his eyelids draw heavy.
For avians, the feathers nearer to the ones back were the most sensitive and difficult to preen by oneself. However, they felt the best when they were properly preened. Through L, Light had learned that it felt like having an itch you never knew existed, scratched.

He would never admit it, but he refused to cut his hair after solving the Kira case. Somewhere, in the most childish parts of him, hopes that hair does actually hold memories. He tried his best to believe that his hair could remember the only ‘friend’ he had ever made— could help him remember the last time he had sobbed.
He wondered if hair could actually remember what his subconscious had egged him to forget. If his hair could recall the jagged edges of the burn scar that bloomed on Mello’s face, or how Roger’s monotone sizzled as he broke the news of L’s death to the two boys.

It’s not a big deal. These are friendship chocolates. L will love the combination of strawberry and chocolate, ignoring the shape. He will probably eat the first chocolate slowly, analyzing each bite as carefully as he does something new, fascinated with the taste. And Light will be proud about it, because most of them were of his making, since Sayu fell asleep on the couch before they were done. He won’t show it, naturally. He’ll be as uninterested as L is. His demeanor won’t change one bit.
After spending every Valentine's day giving L the chocolates he doesn't want from his suitors, Light gets roped into making friendship chocolates for him. It's not like he's been avoiding his feelings for L or anything like that. It will be fine, though. Sayu has a plan.
