Málokdo si již pamatuje, jak to celé začalo. Sice to je pár let, co došlo k oné dohodě, ale lidem z nižších tříd se to zdá jako věčnost. Neustále žijí ve strachu, že oni nebo jejich blízcí budou vybráni jako další. Oběť pro většinu. Po takové době se z hrdinského činu stávají spíš jatka a těžko říct, zda aspoň někdo se je snaží zastavit. Přinejmenším šlechta a armáda nadále mlčí.

Advent. Známe to všichni. Samé uklízení, pečení a létání všude možně v době, kdy se máme ztišit. Obvzlášťmaminy jsou mnohdy celý den v kuchyni. A přesně tam najdete i Jarku, pokud zrovna neuklízí. Ale všichni už si všimli kruhů pod očima a únavy. A to dokonce i Rychlonožka a Kuliferda.
