Twenty-three days after Anakin Skywalker is declared dead, Obi-Wan Kenobi wakes up from his coma to a world where everything has changed. Oh, there's still a war. There's still his men who need him, there's still the Jedi Order, there's still missions and the Code and politicians and obligations.
But there's no meaning. There's no purpose. Anakin Skywalker has been dead for twenty-three days, and even the Chosen One cannot conquer death.

What he must think of his padawan, so totally abandoning the tenets he tried to instill upon him and his very connection with the living Force, trading it in for pomp and procedure and mind-numbing, endless boredom as the newly appointed Senate Liaison for the Jedi Order.
Endless boredom with one very integral bright spot.
Well, technically two.
An argument could, of course, be made for three.
Or, Obi-Wan has trouble counting. But to be fair, Anakin Skywalker--full-time galactic senator and part-time public speeder commute eye-candy--isn't exactly making it easy for him.

He would have preferred not being eight months pregnant while confronting Count Dooku, but nobody ever really got the things they wanted in life.
For instance, Anakin would also prefer not to be pretending he’d gained a very odd amount of weight in a very short period of time. He would also like for his back to hurt less and to have to pee less and also for one of the twins to stop kicking him in his kidneys. Or maybe it was both of them. It could have been both of them doing the kicking.
Or: magic Force babies fix everything, eventually.
