But then Bellara’s eyes caught a tiny movement; there was a slight twitch of the pinkie finger. She gave a hushed gasp of wonder.
Slowly before her eyes, the automaton came to life. His hands clenched, his legs stretched. Steam puffed out as a soft whirring could be heard from within. Metal eyelids fluttered for a moment before they shuttered open. The automaton’s pupils flicked around the room, taking in his surroundings. He blinked curiously and looked up to meet Bellara’s eyes.
She pulled in a shaky breath and smiled softly. “Hi, Cyrian.”
With the help of some unlikely allies, Bellara pulls an astroboy and builds...Robo-Cyrian! It doesn't go well.

Bellara frowned and flicked through her notes. “I thought her dad died at sea, leaving her the heiress to a wealthy estate?”
Illario paused then nodded. “Ah, yes of course. How could I forget. She had two fathers. They were gay.”
Illario happily agrees to let Bellara tie him up and try out praise kink. He's a supporter of the arts after all, and she needs inspiration for her novel.
Illario just didn't expect she would have so much to say. It breaks him a little.

Davrin gestured at his own deep v-neck, which framed pristine smooth skin. It was a rather magnificent sight. "Look at my chest." He snapped his fingers a few times to pull Lucanis's eyes back up. "Exactly."

He'd like to think he's slick enough, the way he can keep the dull ache of his chest tucked away in the hidden back pocket of his heart and expertly school his features whenever one of Luffy's wayward smiles knocks all defiance and strength out of his knees. No need to call on his powers to slice and muddle and skew reality as everyone knows it; he can bitch and spit and grouse about how much disgrace Luffy's simple kindness brings to all pirates, make a show of stamping out any notion of friendship between them beneath his feet, and no one will have to hear any semblance of the truth exit his mouth – now or ever.
In all honesty, it's easier that way.
(Or: my personal twist on the Hanahaki trope, in which Luffy's warmth shines all-too-terrifyingly like the sun and Law has to physically rip out anything that vaguely even resembles love from his own body again, and again, and again on desperate repeat.Luckily for him, he has the surgical precision and exactly the right devil fruit powers for that).

“You’re injured, Straw Hat,” Law reminded him, and now there was something firmer behind his words. “That injury—your chest—I worked hard to put your insides back inside you. It was a long, difficult surgery, and you’re still recovering. You roughed yourself up enough with your tantrum earlier, and I’m not going to let you destroy all that progress because your instincts are telling you to throw yourself against the floor and hump pillows until you pass out. That’s a pathetic way to go.”
Luffy’s ears twitched, twitching like he was about to bolt. His tail lashed once behind him, but he said nothing because he agreed. Dying because he couldn’t handle being in heat was probably the worst way to go.
“If I left you alone, you would reopen the wound,” Law said flatly. “Your heat is gonna get a hell of a lot worse than this. You will thrash around too damn much. You’d probably tear your stitches, and then you’d be in more pain than this.” Law’s gaze softened slightly, but his scent stayed dominant—icy mint, sharp scent, the calm warning of a coming storm. “That’s why I’m going to help you through this.”
Luffy stared, he tilted his head, making his ears flop a little with the movement, “Huh?”

Summary
The storm rages on when the light comes back, and everything is as loud as it was before. Law lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. His rational thoughts come back to him and he decides that there’s nothing he can do while standing here and freezing his ass off. He unlatches the lock and goes back down to his room.
Unbeknownst to Law, a body washes up on the shore.

Nothing has happened yet! Why are you making noises like that? Law’s brain yells at him as he looks up at Luffy, who is smiling widely as he frog blinks at him. Law doesn’t want to think about how ridiculous it is that he is going to have sex (or something else) with a stranger who just frog blinked at him.
