Summary
Buck participates in the Stair Climb in full gear in honor of those lost on 9/11. The only one to do so from the main 'team' of A-shift at the 118. As he climbs he thinks of what has happened in the years since he has been a firefighter and just the past year. He makes a decision that deep down he knew he was going to make anyway.
I wrote this while listening to Alan Jackson's song 'Where were you (when the world stopped turning)' in honor of the fact that it has been 25 years since it stopped turning for so many people. Personally, I was at home taking a gap year between high school and college when my brother who lived in Chicago called to wake my mother and I to turn on the tv. I turned it on just as the first tower fell.
I know that I will never forget and I pray that others never do as well. -

Summary

During the reception, Rose Landry delivers a heartfelt best man's speech about Shane and Ilya's lifelong devotion to one another, the hardships they endured to be together, and the way they have always chosen each other above everyone else. As Rose celebrates Shane finally being able to live openly and happily with Ilya, Jackie is forced to confront the friendship Hayden lost through his own choices.
