Summary
After the events of Iron Lung, just before Simon’s submarine explodes, he clings to a black box and prays that his mother keeps it safe.
But as Simon braces himself for the fight of his life, a blinding white light appears. He has no choice but to grit his teeth and submit to death.
That is, until Simon wakes up in a white room with a robotic arm tending to his wounds.
It felt strangely familiar, like the beginning of a book he used to read as a child. In fact, he remembers reading about this exact same scenario before.
The only problem is that he remembers this happening to Dr. Ryland Grace.
Which is odd, considering that Grace is a very fictional character.
