And, obviously, given both the circumstances of Shane's current predicament — staring at Rozanov's name and number while fucking a girl — and the truth that Rozanov is the only guy Shane has significant experience with, Shane's brain conjures up the image of him fucking Rozanov like this.
In any normal scenario, Shane thinks the idea of topping Rozanov would be laughable. Again, they have their positions worked out, and they stick to them. Shane expects his brain to recoil and say no, that's not how this works.
Instead, Shane shifts his hand down a few inches to see Rozanov's name in its entirety, and his gut twists with something hot and pleasurable at the idea of this being Rozanov himself, rather than some girl wearing his jersey.
-or, Shane can't stop thinking about putting Rozanov through the fucking mattress. He doesn't expect Rozanov to agree to it.

Summary
Life feels so chaotic for Shane sometimes, with all the loud noises and the unwritten rules he’s expected to follow, even though no one ever taught them to him. It’s why the bookstore feels more like home to him than anywhere else in Boston. It doesn’t ask Shane to be anything other than himself. Doesn’t ask for any more than he can give.
He can just exist here.
Shane likes slow, likes taking his time. And Ilya - without saying or doing anything in particular - makes Shane feel like that’s okay. Like he isn’t doing anything wrong by standing still sometimes.
(Or, Shane works in a bookstore, Ilya plays hockey, and they both go to the same college. They fall in love in every universe.)

Heat spread across Ilya's face. His mouth fell open slightly. He let out a short, stuttered laugh of disbelief. This couldn't- he was straight, he wasn't-
“Finally got you at your own game.” Shane's smirk widened to a smile, his hand clapping down on Ilya's shoulder to squeeze it slightly. For once in his life, Ilya was unable to find his voice.
“Damn.” Shane laughed, jostling him a bit. “If I had known this was all it took to get you to shut the fuck up, I would have started flirting back years ago.”

When old college friends Ilya and Shane show up to their mutual best friend's wedding, they are ready to fulfill their duties as bridesmen. Even after years of not seeing each other, they fall right back into their usual banter.
Ilya loves to flirt with Shane. Shane loves to tell him to fuck off. It's a running bit. Summary
Ilya's father wakes him at four in the morning to tell him that he never had dementia, and that Ilya must leave Russia, right now, permanently. Forty-something hours later Ilya is standing in a township office in rural Ontario, marrying Shane Hollander for citizenship. Everything after that — the lawyer, the joint account, the wills, the drive up to the cottage — was never part of the plan.
Alternatively: In the summer of 2016, Ilya must flee Russia, never to return. Shane makes a brilliant plan: marry Ilya to get him Canadian citizenship. It’s only after the wedding that they realize citizenship law doesn’t really work that way.
