Summary

Danny Fenton is killed by his own home at fourteen. He knew ghosts were real, but he had no idea of all the forms they could take, and now he sees them everywhere. He doesn’t want anyone to get hurt like he was, so he faces his fears to enter other haunted houses and kill them before they get the chance to do worse. He’s slowly getting used to it, when he spends the night in Vlad Masters haunted manor, and learns that ghosts aren’t the only beings capable of using their powers for harm.

It clears your hearing. Fear, for some reason, leaves when you exhale. You breathe deep in, again, and a full sense of calmness fills the space of the fear you breathe out.
The blood hadn’t covered your eye, it was coming out of it. Stupid Siffrin didn’t pay attention to the fight and lost another eye.
Or; Siffrin loses his eye in the loops. How hard can it be to get his party to guide them to a tear?

The living Danny—maybe playing along, or maybe responding genuinely—raised both hands in a show of harmlessness. Like Lancer truly had him at gunpoint.
Danny Fenton’s wet cold dead body was so heavy in Lancer’s single cradling arm.
“Who are you?” Lancer asked very simply.
And Danny, arms still raised high, let out a sigh deep enough to deflate his shoulders. Whatever light was in his eyes went dull, resigned to an acceptance Lancer could not in the moment understand.
“I am your worst student,” Danny answered. And he lowered one arm exclusively to point. “And THAT is the dead body of my ghost clone.”

Alone on the farthest outskirts of Amity Park, Danny Fenton and Edward Lancer bury the dead body of Danny's clone. It is long and tedious work, and Danny can't dodge Lancer's questions forever. Surely it's only fair of Lancer to demand to know what he has been pulled into. Surely Danny could use someone on his side, now that his evenings are spent burying his clones.
