George was sick. Very sick at that. There was absolutely no denying it, he was stuffy, and grumpy, and he couldn’t stop the violent coughs that tore through his chest. He tried to swallow the uneasy wheeze in his chest, hoping to shift some attention from his sorry state. He was a walking mess. But, of course, being a racing driving he was stubborn, and therefore pretended to be fine.

Summary
George is so thoroughly beyond the tiny things, each miniature moment that can't be catalogued in it's exact interpretation. He'll always be a little off the mark, too much to the left or too little to the right, never knowing when someone's angry or sad or elated because he can't sense it. Can't pick up on the tantalizing scents of hunger, the acrid, noisome smell of discomfort, the blazing harshness of rage, all of it so foreign.
The only saving grace is that they all try so hard for him.

Summary
Belgium's most traditional university had a less-than-stellar reputation. For freshmen, the campus was a minefield of cruel hazing, public humiliation, and power struggles.
