The internet gets confirmation: Shane Hollander has a girlfriend. Called Lily.
Ever considered how many Lilys there are in North America? Or how many people with parasocial delusions?
Twitter is flooded with #findLily pretenders.
@insomniac_bookworm42 | Did you learn Photoshop at one of those free “Computers for Senior Citizens” classes at the library?
@insomniac_bookworm42 | If not, you should ask for a refund
@preoccupied_educator | this is insulting to those of us who make weird self-insert clout chasing parasocial photoshopped pictures of ourselves with celebrities for a living

Summary
Shane had never thought about having a pet. But when the little one gently put her paw on the back of his hand, before proceeding to nibble lightly on his finger, any alternative was suddenly out of the question. There was just one problem - who would take care of her when he's away during the season?
Or: Shane Hollander finds a kitten and decides to keep her. She can't be alone for several days in a row, so hockey gets a little in the way. Luckily, professionals watching pets in their homes exist. Ilya is one of them.

Summary
It started with a leak that was meant to destroy them. When two years of toxic, homophobic group chats from the Montreal Voyageurs hit the internet, the MLH responded with the one thing Shane and Ilya couldn't stomach: silence.
While Commissioner Roger Crowell plays politics and the media circus reaches a fever pitch, the Co-Captains decide they are done playing by the "Gold Standard" rules. With the help of Harris and Sarah, and a pair of ruthless burner accounts, Shane and Ilya wage a digital guerrilla war that rattles the league to its core.
But when the Voyageurs retaliate by targeting their private life and their home, the "Steady Anchor" finally snaps. Shane Hollander is tired of being professional. He’s tired of being a "marketing stunt." And he’s about to show the world that while Ilya might be the menace, a protective Shane is the most dangerous mastermind in hockey.
From the hostile ice of the Bell Centre to a high-stakes showdown in a Manhattan boardroom, the Co-Captains aren't just playing for a win anymore—they're playing for the soul of the game.
The "Standard" is dead. Long live the Co-Captains.

Summary
Shane no longer hides that he's texting with a guy. It is a badly kept secret that he is gay, and all the important people know already (his family, friends, and his team). So he doesn't delete all the evidence anymore, just the messages that make it clear he is dating Ilya Rozanov.
And now everyone can read his sexts with his boyfriend.
Set somewhere between Shane coming out to his team, before Hayden knows Lily=Ilya, this is a (twitter) reaction fic! (no need to read the first two installments).
OR: Shane Hollander's sexts and sappy texts with Lily get leaked, twitter reacts.
