Summary
At some point during the summer of their senior year in high school, Go Hyuntak stops hearing anything in his left ear.
The change happens gradually. Halfway through the year, he starts turning up the volume on his earbuds while listening to music. Near final exams, he gets used to walking on Baku’s left side so he can hear with his right.
In the third week of July, Geum Seongje gives him one good slap on the cheek and his hearing is gone before the initial sting has even dissipated.

Summary
Akutagawa’s world was gray.
From the moment he was born, all he knew was gray and white and black and various shades. It was a mute, colorless world, but Akutagawa didn’t mind it. He grew up knowing only grayscale, seeing the people he loved in monochromic colors bleeding dark gray blood as the life faded from their colorless eyes.
Of course, like everybody in the world, he knew the world was colorful. There were all types of colors of which he’d never see, or rather, never would see, as in order to truly see the beautiful colors your eyes were designed to hide from you, was to fall in love with your soulmate. Only then could you really see.
