    Summary

"Gojo-san," Nanami said, slowly. He was dripping whipped cream all over the floor, whisk slack in his hand. He thought about putting both the whisk and the bowl he was using down on the counter where they'd be safe, but didn't want to be defenseless. Gojo took enough liberties as it was, and maybe the threat of getting hit over the head with a whisk would keep him from crowding Nanami any closer against his refrigerator. "What is this?"

"This is Itadori Yuuji!" Gojo chirped, nudging the boy forward. The kid, despite the late hour and despite the fact that Gojo had teleported him from what Nanami assumed was the far end of Tokyo into the middle of Nanami's kitchen, beamed up at Nanami. Nanami was struck by the urge to put on a pair of sunglasses indoors. "Your newest employee!"

    "My what," said Nanami, flatly.

(Or, Nanami realizes that he had more options in life than "cog in a corporate machine" and "cog in a grinding, ceaseless war" and opens a bakery. Gojo won't leave him alone. Between them -- and all of the teenagers Gojo keeps dropping off on Nanami's doorstep -- they accidentally revolutionize jujutsu society.)

Chapter 4 is scary bc Nanami reads as so dead wife coded there. Like it makes me eager for him to die because it'll be so scrumptious and angsty when it happens.

Ch5 and Nanami using manners and pastries to shut Sukuna up cracks me up

Nanami has patience in spades (at least compared to me). god am i jealous of it.

Sukuna's apprentice Nanami. Nanami making food for Sukuna. I just know Uraume is rolling in their grave
    ---
Honestly, it probably didn’t mean much of anything at all. That had always been Nanami’s problem; he wanted his life to mean
something, and in reality life was just what it was. There was no truth to be gleaned from killing a curse in a children’s park. Nothing to learn from an office. Probably nothing to learn in a bakery, either, except that eating coffee buns at midnight wouldn’t help Nanami sleep.

    --

Something about the sight of people sitting at Nanami’s table – not one of his tables down in the shop, buthis
table – had a strange feeling swelling in Nanami’s chest again. Flickering, like that affection he'd felt like a candle in his chest downstairs. Something that Nanami wanted to ward and hide at the same time. It caught him flat-footed.

    --

“Gojō-sensei!” he said, excited. “And Ieiri-san.” He bowed to Shōko, which Nanami approved of. There was no reason to bow to Gojō – bowing, after all, implied respect – but Shōko was a little different.
    --
Gojō waved an airy chopstick. “Youaredoing that thing that I do,” he said. “You’re, how do they say it in movies, ‘Making your cake and eating it too.’ Is that right?”

“I don’t understand,” said Nanami, flatly. He’d just been – well, he hadn’t beennice, exactly, but he’d been honest. He’d told Gojō what he really wanted to prevent. Why Nanami didn’t want Gojō to make a Vow with Sukuna at Nanami’s expense. If this was what honesty was going to get him, though –

“You,” Gojō said, “are trying to protect everybody, without letting anybody protect you. I’m right, aren’t I? No, don’t answer, you don’t need to; I’m always right.Youwanna keep Yuuji-kun and me and all of your neighbors safe from Sukuna, but you won’t letusdo the same thing for you.

“Maa,” Gojō added, stretching his shoulders out, throwing one long arm over Nanami’s shoulders and pulling him close, affectionate. “This is annoying! Shōko’s gonna be thrilled – you’re making me grow as a person, Nanami. I hate that.”

    “Grow more annoying, maybe,”

    --
“I’ve got enough to eat here, it’s fine.”
“Mm,” said Itadori, a noncommittal little humming noise he must have picked up from Nanami, because Gojō was usually louder about it when he thought that someone was being an idiot.
    [...]
Itadori, fussing now over the tea kettle but still watching Nanami out of the corner of his eye, grinned a little, obviously pleased to have either helped Nanami or carried out Gojō’s orders to fuss.

Ridiculous, Nanami thought, without any heat.
“I’m not very hungry, Itadori-kun,” he said, gently. “You don’t have to go to a lot of trouble. Just some ginger tea and these – ” he shook the bag of candy – “will be fine.”

“Mm,” Itadori said again, in the way that Nanami had always used to mean, ‘It’s nice that you have an opinion, but it’s an incorrect one, so I’m going to ignore you.’ He dug his phone out of his pocket too, then raised an eyebrow at Nanami. The expression on his face was still hiding a little concern, but now there was cunning in Itadori, too. Mischief, a fox’s twitching tail.
Maybe it’s notmehe’s learning all of this from, Nanami thought, narrowing his eyes.Maybe it’s Satoru. Or Sukuna.

He wasn’t sure which was worse. Gojō was definitely the more mischievous, but Sukuna was sly and cunning, more so than Gojō had ever managed to be. Gojō was about as subtle as a hurricane. But Sukuna –

    It’s a shame,Nanami thought, chewing on a third licorice snail,that Yuuji-kun never got to meet Getō-san.

That was who Itadori reminded Nanami of, right now. Someone between Gojō’s loud and overbearing form of care and Sukuna’s deft control of any and every situation; half-concern and half-manipulation, all of it disguised as a joke or a prank or a game, give-and-take.

This is ridiculous. Something out of a dumb shonen Manga, like most of his life since he met Fushiguro. He'd think this was a stupid joke by his teacher if it wasn't for the fact that he's nearly died.

    “I can't do shit without a heart, Gojo-sensei. I don't want to die...”

    “You won't, I promise.”

    “Because you timetravelled?”

Gojo grins widely. “Not at all, Yuuji-kun. You'll live despite the fact that I timetravelled. You would have lived anyway. Now, you'll just live with… a little bit extra.”

    Summary

The last flare of sunlight outside has faded into a spark at the horizon’s edge. Dusk, and the birds have come to roost—Yuuji can hear the clicking and fluttering, the gentle rhythm of their bodies as they settle under the awning outside his window. He stares out the dark glass as he attempts to calm himself, looking for a hint of foot or beak and finding nothing but the city.

It’s been one week since he fled Jujutsu Tech. Not a single person has come to drag him back.

Stripped of his cursed energy and wracked with guilt, Yuuji leaves Jujutsu Tech in the dead of night.

“I don’t know what to do with this life,” he whispers. “I don’t know that I earned it.”

Fushiguro lets go of his collar.

“That’s not up for you to decide,” he says. “Don’t you know? You’ve earned it already.”

Yuuji slumps back against the wall. His eyes sting.

“Lean on us,” Fushiguro says. “For once, just lean on us. If you can’t remember why you deserve this life, call for us. We’ll remind you. We’ll help you find all the reasons to stay, no matter what you end up doing. And—well, I can’t tell you what to do. But I hope you’ll come back.” He smiles, just a little one. “Call it a personal wish.”

Itadori Yuuji decided how he wanted to die at fifteen years old. At sixteen, he is ready to face it.

In a different age, a different decade, Gojo Satoru had held the life of another soon-to-be-dead 16-year-old determined to shoulder the world. History repeats itself in bad poetry. However, Amanai Riko is not Itadori Yuuji and Itadori Yuuji is not Amanai Riko and maybe that is a good thing.

Once everything is over, Gojo Satoru can only hope that he will not end up with the corpse of another child in his arms.

Suguru dies and hopes to finally rest. Yet instead his soul is bonded to a random pink-haired teenage monkey as if a curse. Forced to be around Itadori Yuuji from now on, not able to leave, Suguru has to accept his fate and quickly realizes that the boy is not an average human being at all. So, the man decides to teach him about cursed energy. That's what saves Yuuji from becoming Sukuna's vessel and gives him a place in Jujutsu High as a regular student. Suguru can only laugh at how all the familiar paths are being crossed again, a bit nostalgic about the place and people around, with Gojou Satoru observing Yuuji intently. Maybe the curse wasn't that random at all?

incredibly tender like I didn't think I'd like this ship so much its turning me into a gokuna fan,,,

    --

If I’m beaten, I’m dead,” he said, and it was a simple truth. “Same as you.”

Sukuna hummed. He didn’t deny it. “Your corpse would do.”

“It’d bore you,” Satoru said, and knew it was true.

    --

A human soul was barely a spark under six eyes. A flicker, easily snuffed in the wind. Even sorcerers were no different, really— no flame could survive a storm. But gather enough sparks, and they could burst, burn, and bloom.

Yeah. Dying was worth it. It’d always been worth it.

    “Why did you stop?”

Satoru looked up. The volcano curse, the one he’d nearly killed as a demonstration for Yūji. It looked small among the nebula of humanity. A tiny little curse, with a tiny little understanding of the world.

“Ah, this is so nostalgic,” Satoru murmured. “Being back here.”

The curse shifted, tense. Satoru had caught him off guard. Not a surprise. The real surprise was that in approximately 10 minutes, Satoru had been the one caught off guard.

    Not this time.

Satoru glanced at his wrist. The red string twitched, shifted, pulled taut.

“I’ll have to finish this quick,” Satoru decided. “The wife’s a jealous one.”

    --

“Nineteen times. You killed yourself nineteen times.”

The words cut, across Satoru and the air, the platform, the world. They sounded wrong.

“Which is as many fingers as you have,” Satoru said. “Kinda romantic.”

    “Gojō.”

“Don’t call my name like that. It was better than wasting away in the prison realm.”

    “There were other ways.”

    “Like what?”

    “Me.”

Satoru snorted. “Were you coming to save me, Sukuna? My knight in shining vessel? I don’t think so.”

Sukuna didn’t reply. Six eyes watched, drunk on the habit of looking at Sukuna.

    He paused. Reevaluated.

    “… seriously?”

“Nineteen sorcerers,” Sukuna said. It was a threat. “That’s how many lives I’m owed. I’ll start with your students.”

    “I’ll kill you first.”

“Will you?” Sukuna took a step forward. Flame, stalking in the night. “Or will you kill yourself?”

    “Oh,” Satoru realized, “you’re upset.”

Kurourushi was a Special Grade cursed spirit who served as a brief antagonist during Jujutsu Kaisen’s Culling Game arc. By the time Yuta Okkotsu had appeared, it had managed to obtain, what was it, 54 points? It, despite being a curse, had been a player powerful enough to force a stalemate between itself and three top-tier reincarnated sorcerers, until Yuta had exorcised it with the power of love or some shit, only for it to come back, and get exorcised again by Ryu’s high-output Biden Blast.

A strong antagonist for sure, and despite the internet rage at the time, they personally thought the cockroach curse had made a pretty interesting fight, and had possibly one of the most dangerous cursed techniques shown by a cursed spirit in the entire manga. That said, you would never catch them wishing to be a FUCKING COCKROACH.

Funny how things played out, wasn't it.

“Only the weak know fear,” Sukuna replied simply.

“Are you saying I’m strong?” Yuji grinned around the coke bottle before he took another drink. It was funny in a bizarre way to be having such a casual conversation.

Sukuna scoffed, “No. You’re just stupid.”

It took Yuji a while. Mostly because he’d never known anyone like Sukuna, but eventually he understood. Whenever Sukuna called him stupid, he really meant ‘I love you.’

    --

Yuji and his isolation in childhood. Understanding loneliness and what it means to be by yourself when you're on top and uncontested. Love how this explores that and how he relates to Gojo. His finding of someone else who is strong and durable and there's really no need for him to hold back because Gojo Satoru is Gojo Satoru.

Also the most unique way I've ever seen Sukuna Yuji dynamic explored. Love it.

    ----

“You don’t actually have to help me,” Yuji reminded him, feeling more than a little irritated by how put upon the guy sounded.

Sukuna rolled his eyes and all his hostility fell away, “Where you lay down I lay down.”--- then as an afterthought he added, “Even if you have chosen places that are troublesome and worthless.”

    --

Yuji turned to look at his new friend and blinked. All four of his eyes. Right. Sukuna had no reason to put himself away if Junpei was going to be a sorcerer. Awkwardly, he could tell the exact moment Junpei realized that too as his own two eyes widened and he shifted away a little.

”I’m going to skin him alive for looking at you like that.” Sukuna declared. It sounded different than his threats towards Gojo which, Yuji realized now was his own form of banter. Even worse, it wasn’t like the idle threats he talked about Nanami with because he just didn't like people being arbiters of what they could do. No, every word he’d just said was dripping with disgust that hit the back of Yuji’s own throat like Sukuna really meant it.

“I’m just talking to Sukuna,” Yuji said simply then with a stroke of genius he explained, “He lives inside me. Like how Kurama lives in Naruto.”

“What the hell is a Kurama?” Sukuna sounded disgusted, “Is this like your Gogeta or whatever?”

“Which memories have you even seen?” Yuji tried not to chuckle incredulously out loud. After all, Sukuna said he saw some. So what was that about?

“The important ones.” Sukuna replied dryly. So maybe memories that were big and formative? That was kind of crazy cause Yuji didn’t even know what those were. He was pulled from his conversation when Junpei started talking again.

“Is…is that why you have four eyes?” Junpei asked and suddenly he relaxed a lot. Even better, he smiled with interest and leaned forwards.

    “Yeah.”

“That’s so cool!” Junpei’s voice was so soft and earnest, “I wish Moon Dregs was a real person like that. It must be nice, knowing you’ll never be alone.”

“Still want to skin him?” Yuji asked smugly.

Sukuna huffed. Not satisfied but probably willing to listen because Yuji liked Junpei, Sukuna replied, “Just ensure he walks behind us.”

“Nah, I know you’d never let anything happen to Yuji, Sukuna. Even though you’re only at three fingers, you also have Yuji’s cursed energy to work with. I have no doubt that, between the two of you,Yuji would be a special grade sorcerer if it wasn’t for all the red tape and those old idiots thinking Sukuna is waiting to break out and burn the world to the ground.”

“Big words, sorcerer. I doubt you have a single clue of what my plans are for this life.” Sukuna said.

The amount of teeth Gojo showed was a bit uncanny when he said, “Yeah, but Yuji wouldn’t like it if you did that.”

“Die.” Sukuna spat with no real menace.

    --

“Kannon, I like that name, I guess,” Yuji felt his mouth move and the words come out. But they were new and beautiful. A word to call himself.

    Oh.

    Ohhhhhh.

    Kannon.

Maybe fate was a bit funny. Yuji and Kannon. Compassion and Mercy. It was like something from a song. He could laugh almost.

    --

”You’re lucky I don’t just eat you again.”

Yuji laid across the throne and settled more, relaxing from the partial possession as he snarked right back, ”As if you could. I’m way too full of modern chemicals.”

I love him I love him I love him I need to crunch him in my teeth. Yes I know I'm very normal.

“Then allow me to grace you with this,” laughed Sukuna as the volcano curse threw a gigantic meteor at him. “「Furnace: Open」.”

Divine flames gathered in his hands, forming the familiar shape of a bow and arrow, the one thing he had been better than his father at. And, with the release of his hand, his divine arrow of fire flew. It pierced through the burning meteor and hit the curse straight on. That volcano curse was obliterated. Burned to ashes.

What a joke. For all that it was the embodiment of human fear of fires and volcanoes, it was still just a curse. Even if he was only at a fraction of his real power, Sukuna had divine blood running through his veins. At the end of the day, what is a cursed fire in the face of the flames of the gods? For all that he had been disgraced and exiled from the heavens, his father had still been the Byakko, the Tiger of the West, himself.

genuinely really unique premise but it feels like I'm watching a man dig his own grave. Like. Kinda in a cool way? Like yeah man. You're so fucked but at least you can see the fandom at work and use their fan theories. Really really interesting I wanna eat this

I’ve never read the manga, but I have seen a few spoilers so there might be some inaccuracies where I just made stuff up to fill in the gaps.

*Going through editing to make it better understandable. (Pretty much all chapters are going through different levels of editing) and expand on a few scenes. Sorry if it the quality of chapter shifts, have a great day!

    ABSOLUTE PEAKNESS

    --

“Exactly how many children do I have?”

    [...]

“…Ten,” Yuji says finally. “In total. Including me.”

    Kenjaku exhales.

    Not in relief.

    In horror.

    “…Including you,” he repeats.

“Yeah,” Yuji says. Then, helpfully: “But you pickled the other nine.”

    Silence.

    Deep. Profound. Offended silence.

Sukuna slowly turns his head to Kenjaku as if he had answers. “You did what?”

Tengen’s eyes flick to Yuji. “…Pickled?”

    Yuji nods. “Yeah.”

Kenjaku’s smile twitches violently at the edges.

“Yuji,” Kenjaku asks very carefully, “What do you exactly mean by pickled?”

Yuji gestures vaguely, like this should be obvious. “You know. When you put something in a jar to keep it safe.”

    Sukuna chokes.
