Summary
After the Ashford Tourney, Baelor returns critically wounded but alive, slipping into a coma. Valarr, betrothed to Aerion since childhood and set to marry him within the year, cannot help blaming Aerion for his father’s condition. Every time he watches his mother weep over Baelor’s unconscious body, the resentment deepens and festers. Once Aerion is well enough to be summoned to the King’s solar, Daeron II informs him that the betrothal has been dissolved and that he is to be exiled to Lys.

Valarr agrees to share a house with his cousin Aerion because their fathers think one of them needs independence and the other needs supervision.
Instead, Valarr gets Aerion in his clothes, in his bed, under his skin and increasingly determined to prove that Valarr wants him there.
By December, neither of them is pretending very well.

Summary
Four years ago, Aerion left Westeros in disgrace.
He returns to find that the world did not wait for him and someone is hunting what remains of House Targaryen.
Aerion has been summoned home for his own protection, which would have been simpler if returning did not also mean standing by Valarr's side again, obeying him, wanting him, and discovering that four years had done very little to kill what Aerion thought he had left behind.
