Summary
Simon doesn't know what happened, or how it happened. The last thing he remembers is the walls of the sub exploding inwards as the last remaining space filled with air around him was flooded with thick blood. He thrust the black box with the life jacket out with his hand, hoping, praying, that it would reach the surface and the COI would find it.
Everything went black.
And then he opened his eyes. The sub was intact, still partially flooded with blood, but it was floating all around him instead of settling at the bottom. Simon was in zero gravity.

Summary
Somehow, in some twisted, unbelievable turn of events, the fate of the entire planet, billions upon billions of people, had fallen on Ryland Grace's shoulders. It was a burden he wasn't fit to carry. A burden that he could feel in all its massiveness weighing down on his chest, squeezing his lungs until all he could eke out of them where wheezing, barely-there breaths.
He pressed his forehead harder against his knees and curled his fingers tight around some of the fabric of his pants, his knuckles turning white. He couldn't—this wasn't how it was supposed to—
His life—his kids—
Simon.
Or Ryland Grace is a middle school teacher turned lead astrophage scientist. Simon Fischer is a convict turned engineering specialist. Surely absolutely nothing could go wrong on a cosmic scale because neither of them are astronauts.

Summary
Simon's been on Erid, physically, for 2 months.
He's been conscious for only a week.
He doesn't trust Grace or Rocky by any stretch of the word, not even sure he's convinced those are their real names.
And yet, seeing the usually cheerful, compassionate scientist so afraid had put a cold dead weight in his stomach.
or
Some overzealous Eridians(its quite literally a cult) decide to take matters into their own hands regarding their "saving grace". All while Simon is still recovering from the blood ocean.

When Simon comes to in the medical bay of the Hail Mary, he's not sure what's real and what he's still imagining: a huge, impossibly clean ship, a talking rock, and a man who looks a little like an angel. His world is about to get a lot bigger--and brighter.

Summary
Simon is the new history teacher at Grover Cleveland Middle and he likes his job. A lot. It's fun teaching the kids and it's nice being able to adapt to civilian life. The only hiccup is the science teacher next door.
Ryland is excited to befriend the new history teacher, but for some reason he can't seem to have a normal conversation with him. Like ever.

Summary
The year is 2051. Dr Ryland Grace was able to come home from his suicide mission, thanks to Rocky's generosity. The Taumoeba farms worked perfectly... nothing went wrong on his journey home.
Now he is back on Earth and Eva Stratt needs to decide what to do with him... But Grace already knows what he wants; he want's to fade into obscurity and go back to teaching. Nothing is too much trouble for the man who saved the sun. So Stratt makes it happen.
Grace settles into his new life, finding comfort in his familiar routines. But something keeps gnawing at him. He's come to terms with the fact he was sent, is almost thankful for it in some ways. What he cannot come to terms with is the way he was sent and that... leads him down a journey of questionable decisions.
Simon Fisher grew up in a cult and after committing a crime at the age of 20, he spent 12 years in Prison. Then a month before his release, the world rejoices at the news that the Hail Mary mission succeeded, whilst Simon is made an offer he cannot refuse. A new identity, freedom from his cult, in exchange for information. New life acquired, it rapidly goes downhill.
Plot with eventual smut.

Summary
Ryland Grace is fine. He’s perfectly fine, thank you. Between his twin brother making contact for the first time in two years, and the really rather attractive fireman who just rescued his daughter’s new kitten from a rather precarious place, Ryland Grace is fine. He’s lying, obviously.
A girldad!Grace x Firefighter Simon AU with a delightful sprinkling of Coltland Gentry brothers… prepare for angst (and so much found family fluff) <3
