The words were possibly too heavy and accusatory, but Anakin didn’t care.
There was something to be said about the shift in perspective when you felt your best friend’s heart stop beneath your hands, when he died in your arms and then came back from the dead acting like your heart hadn’t stopped too. Like your lives weren’t intertwined since the moment you shook hands in the Jedi Temple, like you wouldn’t lose a limb for him. Like you hadn’t already.

He remembers everything that Obi-wan has ever taught him. He remembers to try to view his thoughts like passing clouds; to see his emotions like the ebbing and flowing tide; to focus on his breath; to feel his heart. He tries so hard to remember, as his hands brush Obi-Wan’s skin for the first time in almost a year. Tries to breathe.
But still his hands shake.
They have clipped his hair short; shorter than Cody has ever seen. He lifts the scalpel, like a pen, just like he had seen Kix do so many times...
[OR]Ben's nightmares are starting to affect his work - though he's never been much of a mechanic anyway. What if he's meant to be somewhere else - doing something greater? But then he wouldn't have Anakin. When Ben catches sight of something in the street, it seems like his dreams have come alive to haunt him, until an incident in front of the old Temple teaches him that he has no idea who he really is.
