Summary
Death is all around Sam, and he can’t help but feel like it’s all his fault. His sister loses the boat and is forced to move into a smaller, cheaper apartment. He takes on helping her with the kids, but the combined stress of everything that’s gone down and is coming— the funerals, helping Sarah, the debt, and the overwhelming weight of being Captain America— is way too much for any man to take.
***
Inspired by the CBS TV show Ghosts, Sam goes through a near-death experience which leaves him clinically dead for a few minutes. In the show, this allows Samantha (the main character) to see and communicate with ghosts. Sam gains this same ability. What happens when he discovers that a mission of his from a while back is actually about more complicated than he thought— and isn’t actually wrapped up like he was told?
Or: Sam nearly kills himself after some horrible events which leads to him being able to see ghosts. Sam has to investigate a case they originally thought was solved because another ghost reveals that there’s so much more

Summary
(learning how to live when your death was the mechanic by which you could succeed.)
Then the assassin says, "I don't know where to go from here."
At first Corvo thinks one of the Whalers must have snuck into the room, that maybe this is a coded message, that that's why it makes so little sense—but no. It's just him, and the assassin on his knees.
"I don't know how to change this," he adds. It sounds as drained as Corvo feels. "I've tried... everything I could think of. Nothing worked. This is how it always ends."Bookmarked by Liro7472
