    For over four years, Ellie Barron had lived a grim, isolated life—mostly by choice. But when she and her grandmother move across the country to the small town of Jasper, Nevada, she resolves to change that; to go through high school with no trouble, get out of the house more often, and maybe even make a friend or two along the way. Even with a prosthetic leg, that shouldn’t be too hard.

    How was she supposed to know that doing any of that would lead to her and some other kids discovering an alien race living among her? An alien race in the throes of a millennia-long war, at that.

    She never would’ve imagined she’d make friends with giant, transforming robots who seem just as new to this as she was, especially their war-weary leader who takes it upon himself to watch over her. But as time goes on, she slowly starts to see them not just as friends, but perhaps as something she had been missing for so long.

    Family.

    OR, a disabled recluse tries to socialize one (1) time and ends up getting adopted by aliens for her troubles. Hijinks ensue.
