Summary
Red Alert had a way of dealing with his paranoia. It wasn’t healthy and it wasn’t sane, but it worked and the relief of it was too sweet a temptation to resist.
Inferno knew this. He understood this. That didn’t mean he would just allow it to happen when there were other ways of managing Red Alert’s paranoia. Pain couldn’t cure pain. It might help in the moment, but at the end of the cycle, it only made things worse.
Love was the cure. Love and tenderness and sharing the pain with each other. That’s what was going to help Red Alert heal.
And Inferno would show him so time and time again, until he was finally free of his burdens.
