“Are you…injured?” Bucky asks, and an ugly feeling bubbles up in Peter’s chest, a snarling thing that makes him grind his teeth, fills his lungs with seawater.
“No, and that’s the fucking problem!” Peter snaps, chest pushing forwards until it splinters against the kitchen table, hands reaching up to slap over his mouth as if it's a hot coal that needs to be smothered.

“Hey, sweetheart—” Wade whispers against his lips. Peter pulls him in for another kiss. “Pete.” Wade says, this time more insistently, grabbing Peter by his shoulders. Peter whines, chasing after his lips, but Wade keeps talking this time. “Peter, you’re bleeding.”
Wade pulls his thigh out from between Peter’s legs, and Peter looks down, finally noticing the dark spot spreading across his abdomen, and the second spot on his inner thigh.
“Fuuuck,” Peter groans, throwing his head back.
“Yeah, that’s what I’m tryna do here.”

The bathroom itself looks like a murder scene, and there's this whole bathtub-situation— the rim of the tub is, of course, smeared with blood, and the water is darkened with it. And then there’s Peter, head lolled to the side, barely conscious.
Now, it’s one thing for Wade to be strewn out in a blood-filled tub looking half-dead, but his roommate? His un-enhanced, nerdy roommate?
“This isn’t a great look for ya, I’ll be honest,” Wade says, closing the door behind him and striding into the room with all the confidence he can muster. “Deathly-ill-chique went out of fashion at least a hundred years ago.”

A few months ago, Peter shacked up with Wade Wilson, a.k.a Deadpool, thanks to the heavy "no one wants to live with a mercenary" discount. Though Wade has no care for any sort of secret identity, Peter is still trying to skirt around while pretending that he and Wade aren't close friends in the mask.

They bloom every time Matt Murdock tilts his head to listen. Every time Frank Castle's voice gets low and rough. Every time they look at him like he matters.
The drug wasn't supposed to turn into this. The love wasn't supposed to become lethal.
But Peter's been in love with them for months, and flowers are patient. They wait.
