Commander Benjamin Sisko is looking forward to a quiet family evening with his son Jake — until his plans for the evening are suddenly disrupted by an official report claiming that one of his crewmembers was witnessed having a heated altercation with a high-ranking Starfleet admiral in Quark’s.
Of course, the officer in question turns out to be Bashir. Who else?
When Sisko confronts Bashir about the incident, the young man refuses to explain what the altercation was about. Even worse, he openly defies Sisko’s orders to apologize to the admiral, his behavior bordering on insubordination. Sisko is in no mood for the doctor’s games. When he confines Bashir to the brig to give him time to reflect on his inappropriate behavior, he has no idea what horrible chain of events he is about to set in motion.
(Set in the middle of Season 2)

When Mycroft arrived at the tavern in Dartmoor, he spotted Sherlock without effort, sitting in an armchair by the fire. Sherlock’s deliberate choice of warmth had already given him pause.
On closer inspection, he could see the thinly veiled agitation in his brother. Palms together, they sat underneath his chin as if in prayer. Firelight caught in tear-bright eyes.

It was small wonder, really, that over the past few weeks, Julian’s attempt to understand Garak’s cold and distant behavior since Camp 371 had morphed into hurt and then into resentment and finally into resignation. Now, Julian genuinely worried that Garak would simply say no if he comm’d him to ask for help. Or worse yet, he might say yes but only reluctantly, and then treat Julian as a chore to be dealt with.
Either would be unbearable. It was better not to ask at all.

In reply, Logan chuckles. It’s that low, dry rumble that seems to dole out annoyance and fondness in equal measure. To Scott’s endless frustration, it’s how Logan replies to most things. He turns on the tap in the bathroom. Lets it run.
“What’s it look like?” he says, letting the water run over his fingers. “Helping your sorry ass out, Slim.”
