Throughout Claudia's achingly long years spent dead despite the beating heart in her chest, Louis had been many things to her and she could not quite pinpoint which one he truly was. Father, saviour, brother, travel companion, uncle, oppressor - the list dragged on infinitely, a bottomless pit of labels used interchangeably over time, some publicly, others kept to the private sanctuary that was her diary.
Lestat, on the other hand, had always been and always would be her maker - her father, if she dared admit such a thing to herself in the darkest, most concealed corner of her mind. She was helpless but to love him as her father, nearly as much as she loathed him.
