Josh hadn't heard anything from Sal all shift, which wasn't unusual, but wasn't exactly normal either. Sal always seemed to find time to text him, to keep him updated — let him know he was safe on shift. The more they settled into their relationship, into something real, something serious — the more they texted. Or maybe it just felt that way, now that Josh didn't feel like a giddy teenager every time Sal's name flashed across his screen.
