it feels like being wanted. it's nice. he likes it. if he focuses, he can almost predict where the hands will go next with his awareness. in a strange way, it's like a fun little game for the spider in his brain, and maybe for him too.
"what were you on about earlier?" frank's voice breaks through his thoughts and peter gives little hmmm of displeasure that he can see the other man smile at for a moment. rude, but peter isn't in the mood to pick a fight about it. "my heartbeat. we never talked about that."

"This is easy," Peter says, and he's almost smiling, the depressed little fucker, Frank can just about see a flash of his teeth. Frank wants to make him smile more, maybe even laugh, like he's a twelve-year-old girl with his first crush, Christ, this is embarrassing. He gets an urge to cup the back of Peter’s head and crush his face against something painful and cold, steel or glass. "This isn't even a workout, Frank, come on. You tiring yourself out, old man?"
