“What,” Felix says sharply, “are you looking at.” The sentence is supposed to come with a question mark, Dimitri knows, but Felix delivers it like a threat.
“Just… I’m just wondering if this is a good choice for the trick-or-treaters,” Dimitri says, loosening his grip on the bag of candies. He glances over at Felix as he scoots gingerly past, doing his best not to make bodily contact. Felix’s face has developed the allover pink of a full-blown glower.
“Rabbits are family-friendly,” Felix says.
The thought is simultaneously completely sensible yet absurd and incomprehensible. Rabbits are family friendly, but— but surely not this kind of rabbit.

Dimitri asks Felix to help him hand out Halloween candy, but Felix’s costume — unexpected, out of character, and certifiably family-unfriendly — is beyond anything he could have imagined.
