Where Mira can just see purple.
And her hands flex, wanting to call her Gok Do back, wanting to tear the fabric more, because it didn't look like a purple bruise.
It looked like a demon pattern.
But Rumi turns back around, her goofy smile on her face, and she teases Mira for being slow, and she lets Zoey climb on her, and it has to still be Rumi.
Mira catches up, thinking of a plan on how to fix Rumi, how to destroy the patterns without destroying Rumi.

Summary
Rumi’s thoughts swirl. She'd been raised, trained, for three purposes. One was technically complete: while the Honmoon wasn't gold, it was sealed. The second purpose couldn't happen anymore: it's not gold, and only the gold could have fixed her, so that's…Rumi isn't sure how she's supposed to feel about it, so she ignores it: it can't happen.
The last purpose: protect her girls. The one she actually likes to do. Nothing will really change, but now they know she's…what she is, they must've been taught the real rules, so now she'll have to do some adapting.

This was typically the part where Rumi would be expected to introduce herself, but she didn't seem to give a flying fuck about what was expected of her if the way she still just stared even as Celine cleared her throat pointedly said anything.

Rumi squinted between them and the bag. "Why."
"Because as much as you don't seem to like us, we like you just fine."

"Well, come on. Aren't you going to bite somebody with those big sharp teeth of yours?" Mira prompted again with a raised brow, shaking Zoey's arm slightly, as if genuinely trying to entice Rumi to take a bite.
Instead of taking the proffered bait, Rumi turned her head away with a strong air of ‘well now I don't want to.'
"Thought so." Mira drawled, unimpressed. "Now how about you let us help you inside?"

Summary
...Mira knows too much about the ones who know about her, like her father. She knows that slipping up even once would be enough to get herself stuck forever, until she died, and there’d be nothing she could do about it. She’s already lived through having to narrowly escape that fate once, and she’s not looking for a repeat of that, even if it means she sticks to rules that are a little too over the top and intense. Mira also knows that failing would be beyond detrimental to her, a fate worse than death, and that keeping people out—all while making sure to keep an eye on the ones who get too close—is ultimately a kinder fate than what she could expect if she got it wrong.
It doesn’t matter if anyone is actually hunting her or not; Mira hasn’t stopped living her life like someone is as soon as she learnt what it meant to get caught, and she’d rather live like this than risk fucking up and getting caught in a trap.
Foxes are meant to be clever, anyway. Mira likes to pride herself on being particularly evasive and hard to catch.
