What he was sure about was how shocking the pain had been, a bright starburst that made the world spiral to black for a split second before coming back into colour almost as soon as it had gone.'

A run of the mill Edmund fic, dealing with the events of the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and eventually Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Essentially my own spin on things, and a new but inspired take on the Golden Age and subsequent years.

Summary
The young knight Ser Caspian dreams of catching the eye of a great Narnian house and securing a position in its service, hoping to finally improve his lot in life. When a grand tournament is organized to celebrate the birthday of a noblewoman's daughter, he sees the perfect opportunity to prove his worth and attract the attention of an important noble. What Caspian doesn't expect is that his real troubles will begin only after entering the tournament, when a child appears and—defying all common sense — insists that he take her on as his squire. Left with few options — and against his better judgment — Caspian eventually gives in. As if that weren't complicated enough, one of the Kings of Narnia — a man who is devastatingly handsome yet equally infuriating — seems to have taken a special interest in him, never missing a chance to watch him wherever he goes. Perhaps the desire to be noticed by a great house has gone a bit too far now that the rulers of Narnia themselves have their eyes on him. But Caspian certainly isn't going to complain about the attention of a handsome king.

Summary

Summary
Not far from the Telmarine’s castle lay the sleeping King, guarded by the centaurs, and soon King Edmund would awake in a world he would no longer recognise. The Telmarines ruled the lands, his people hidden in the forests and his beloved trees motionless as if they were dead. To free his people, Edmund must go undercover, surrounded by enemies, playing the part of the loyal knight to the cruellest Telmarine he's encountered. There is hope in the form of the future King Caspian, but with enemies all around, can Edmund save his people, himself and Prince Caspian, or will the Narnia he knows cease to exist?
