“Worse?”
What could be worse than dead?
“No,” Carlos points at Marjan when she tries to rebut. “You don’t get to talk either.”
TK tries again. “In our defense—”
“You do not have a defense,” Carlos cuts in. “You broke into a crime scene.”
“It wasn’t a crime scene,” TK says. When Carlos makes a strangled noise he adds, “Yet…”
Carlos just stares. at him, so TK, a genius, keeps going. “…it was pre-crime scene?”
“TK.”
“Okay, yes, it was a crime scene.”

When a missing persons case lands on Carlos’s desk, it’s one he can’t shake.
When TK and Marjan find out about it, they're curious.
They're not investigating Carlos's case... it's just a harmless stop by the bakery. Until it quickly turns into something else...leading to unanswered questions, loose threads, and a discovery they were never supposed to make.
Carlos is exhausted.
Paul is entertained.

“Okay, a doctor will be out shortly with an update, I’m sorry I don’t have any news here. If you’d like to wait?” She gestures over to the waiting area, and Aaron sees the tension in Robert’s jaw as he takes in the group of villagers he’s about to be faced with. He breathes out and nods tightly to her before starting to round the desk. The nurse looks over the counter then and makes a small sound of surprise.
“Service dog,” Robert says, with a small smile at her, and the nurse smiles back, with a soft look in her eyes. Aaron would roll his eyes, (another day, another person falling in love with Robert Sugden at first sight, not much has changed there) but then Robert’s walking over to them, a white blonde golden retriever trotting along next to him, wearing a little vest that says Please don’t pet me, I’m at work.
Aaron asked Robert not to come back when he visited him in prison in June 2025. Robert, for the first time possibly ever, listened.

"They were actually chatting away with the White sisters," he feels Robert's hand tense against his shoulder for a moment, "and they were talking about you."
"Hm, all good things, I imagine," Robert says, clearly expecting the opposite, and Aaron grins against his ribs.
"Actually, yes," he says, glancing up to see Robert looking perplexed. "Apparently, and this is their words, not mine, you're very good in bed."

“I dunno, I guess not. It was fun though,” TK says.
“What?” he asks, dumbfounded at the way Carlos is staring at him with a goofy smile.
Carlos’s smile only gets bigger. He’s done something stupid and, whatever it is, he’s pleased with himself.
“I just thought maybe we could play Dream Phone before bed,” he says, producing a familiar pink box from the floor.
“Carlos Tomas.”
Carlos laughs, pulling the big pink phone from the box and placing it in TK’s hand before sliding an arm around his waist and tugging him close so he can whisper in his ear.
“I think I know which boy has a crush on you.”
