Summary
Mitya asked for a vacation. After all, working non-stop couldn't be good for anyone, right?
The problem is that nobody explained to him that those vacation days came with a condition: staying away from anything related to his job to prevent him from thinking too much about Death and, consequently, triggering his curse.
Now Mitya deeply regrets having asked for time off. He can't work, he can't investigate, and, even worse, he has nothing to do. And for someone with an hyperactive mind like his, boredom is almost torture.
His friends, determined to keep him busy before his own mind turns into a problem, have a mission: to find an activity capable of distracting Mitya enough to keep the Curse of Death at bay.
How hard can it be?

Vodyanitsa gasped at his appearance, offering him a small smile. “Alyosha,” she called, trying and failing to hide her nerves under her calm voice. The singer’s eyes caught on a spot above him, as if he was a sun too burning to stare at. Beside her, Mitya stared at him without a smile. His thumb rubbed at his left palm absent-mindedly, tracing an invisible pattern. His third hand poked at his shoulder fruitlessly, then gave up, limping at his side.

In his well-pressed suit, freshly-shined medals pinned on his chest, Valeriy can't help but look down to check if he accidentally wore the wrong thing today. He'd wanted his appearance to reflect how reliable he would be as head of Mitya's security detail.
“Do I look like a delivery guy?” He asks, genuinely bewildered.
Mitya considers. “No…”
“I'm with the Fatui.”
“Oh.” He scratches the back of his neck. “That’s - ha, I'm not usually into military types, that's all.” "

“As I was saying,” Valeriy steers the conversation back to the topic on hand, which Mitya is not exactly keen on exploring, “the theater.”
Mitya sighs. He’s not getting out of this, is he? “What more is there to say? We all died, and came back to life. Fought the ruler of death. That’s it.”
Valeriy does a double take. “You what?” His eyes almost bulge out of his head, dark purple finally meeting the lighter shade of Mitya’s eyes.
“...Yes?” And that’s when Mitya remembers he and the traveler had glossed over this detail, considering all of the ruckus and confusion at the time. Getting lost memories back isn’t exactly a walk in the park. Oops.
Or: In the temporary hiatus of Project Stuzha and Project Mistilteinn, Mitya and Valeriy talk, and maybe get together.
