Omg this was seriously beautiful....I never once ever thought of this pairing, but I was intrigued, and dear god I am so glad I decided to read this despite the length because it was worth it, so much. My comment explains just how wonderfully the author was able to write about them. Honestly in the beginning it was giving me similar vibes that the Billy/Steve pairing does, some tone, and that's what drew me in really. And it just blossomed from there. The chapters go through different years throughout their lives, starting with them meeting as children and growing into something more over time, into high school. And then about their lives together as they move away, and after their POVs in the beginning, we get each chapter with a different character's POV for the remaining chapters. And honestly I usually hate this, but omg it worked so well in this! The way this author writes out their characters is amazing, they are just so fleshed out and alive and you just feel for all of them and are interested and invested in their lives. And I just found myself wanting to keep reading even then, and their OC's and the canon characters are made just so human in this. Honestly this author was really good at make this all feel real, giving such a reality to their lives, something I rarely see, and this author captured it so well with events and emotions and everything honestly
POV's:
Ch. 1 - Andy (from their start to the end of high school)
Ch. 2 - Sid (right after they both leave town to go to California)
Ch. 3 - Sid (going with Andy to visit their hometown after several years)
Ch. 4 - Molly (Andy's sister) (coming to visit them in California)
Ch. 5 - Greg (Andy's friend) (his friendship with Andy and them talking about starting a company, gets into his current relationship too, taking place after previous chapters)
Ch. 6 - Kate (Andy's mother) (her, Andy, and Sid being there when Molly gets married)
Ch. 7 - Bonnie (little girl Andy donates his toys to) (returns Andy's toys to him and contemplates her life having just finished high school)
Ch. 8 - Lane Phillips (Sid's father) (visited by Casey, who wants to learn about her biological parents, using him as a possible test run, having never met him before since he is not in their lives due to his neglect/emotional abuse of Sid)
Ch. 9 - Casey (Andy & Sid's daughter) (takes place right after the end of the last fic, taking in what she learned about Lane and her fathers and meeting her future husband coincidentally)
Ch. 10 - Woody (takes place at the end, where Andy & Sid are grandparents now, a glimpse at the family through his eyes, Andy & Sid mainly, him being passed down to their granddaughter to continue over watching the family, being a toy for the next generation)Comment:
"Omg, your story was seriously beautiful, I have never once thought of this pairing before but came across this story and decided to give it a try, and omg am I so glad that I did! You are seriously a brilliant writer, you gave so much life and depth to all of these characters, created such an intricate universe for them while still following canon events so seamlessly, and I am so sad that it is over. I nearly cried at the end because of how heartfelt it was. I loved seeing their relationship grow through the years, the challenges they faced, the love they had for each other throughout, and I usually am not a huge fan of original characters, but you gave them so much life that I loved learning about them and having them worked into the story so flawlessly. You breathed so much life into characters that we barely knew anything about really, and now we have an entire life story for them. Seriously there are not enough words to describe how much I loved this story and how wonderfully you wrote it ❤️"
