Summary
Underneath the dusty purple haze of pollution, the city of Polyhex was the place where hopes and dreams went to die. It was haven for scum, deadbeats, and addicts. The last stop before life veered off the tracks, permanently. In this lonely place where not even the light of the stars could reach, the fates of two very different people were changed forever. Jazz, an assassin who knew how easy life was to extinguish, didn't believe in planning for a future. Prowl, an idealistic young enforcer who would sacrifice anything for a chance at a world with true justice.
Their ideals are tested when they screw each other silly and save Cybertron or whatever.

Sam was dying. It was two years after Chicago and it was all falling apart. His friends were hunted and killed, even the human ones by Cemetery Wind. He got shot and wanted so badly to fix things, maybe do something to prevent this all from happening. Primus, heard his prayer.

Summary
Jazz and Prowl get into a heated argument, causing the Spec Op to take off on his own, leaving Prowl alone. Important to mention that Jazz is Second in Command while Prowl is simply the head of the Tactical Department, I’m not sure where the ranking for him would fit within the High Command. This is one of their biggest hurdles in their relationship so far. Neither of them are very good at communicating it seems.
Takes place before A Burden Shared, but can be read as a standalone.
