Jaskier gasps and sputters, utterly taken aback and hardly knowing which part of Geralt’s speech to address first. “A tart? A backwater tart, no less! Backwater tarts wish they had half my charm and sexual prowess! And you’ve, you’ve got some nerve, Geralt, trying to, to take advantage of my nobility — um, alleged nobility, that is — right after insulting my virtue and slandering me. Imagine the outrage I’d feel if I were actually noble—”
Geralt tosses a doublet unceremoniously at Jaskier, who squawks and scrambles to catch it before it can fall to the floor. Geralt stills, then, and turns to face Jaskier with a pinched expression. “Doesn’t matter to me if you’re noble or not,” he says in a low tone. “You’re still Jaskier. Still annoying; still unshakable.”
Jaskier looks down at the doublet in his hands to hide the way his cheeks burn as relief trickles down his spine. “Oh, well, as long as I’m still annoying,” he says.

“You don’t keep a full purse without pinching a few pennies. Not all of us have a bard singing our praises from town to town. Plus, innkeeper told me the place is sold out. ” Eskel tips his chin, a smile growing on his lips. “You telling me you’re too good to share a bed like old times?”
“Think we’re a bit big for that,” Geralt says.
Eskel shrugs a shoulder. “Think we can figure it out,” he says easily. Like it’s nothing.
Geralt wishes it were nothing.
a rudderless geralt runs into eskel in oxenfurt, and they decide to take down a katakan together. it doesn't quite go according to plan, or maybe it does.

When Geralt is a young witcher, he loves to sing. Love songs and ballads and ridiculous little ditties, it doesn't matter. He delights in using his voice, in making beautiful music. But then he's given the "gift" of jewels falling from his mouth whenever he speaks. A gift that kings would kill for. Would certainly hurt a lowly mutant for.
He doesn't much like to sing, after that.

“Always have been, dear Witcher, but thank you for finally noticing.”
“You’re taller than me.” Geralt found himself rather unhappy about this fact. Granted, Jaskier only had an inch or two on him, but it was the principle of the thing.
“I’m taller than most folk,” Jaskier admitted with a small shrug, grinning at Geralt’s raised eyebrow in response. “Very few people realise because everyone looks small standing next to a Witcher now don’t they?"
After an unfortunate run in with a sorcerer, Geralt finds himself de-witchered.
